    WMU News: Our group has voted to meet once a quarter, in January, April, July, and October on the third Tuesday of the month at 10am in the church parlor. We may also plan a picnic in April and a Christmas Party in December. The week of February 13-19 is “Focus on WMU Week” and there will be a WMU Salad Supper on February 16th at Mauldin First at 6pm. The speaker will be Catherine Ritch Guess, a published composer and author of children’s books. The cost is $6.00 for the meal and the deadline for the purchase of tickets is February 7th. Please call Carolyn Mellette @ 370.9576 if you would like to attend. Our mission project for February will be items for the Perry Correctional Institution. Please bring in men’s plain white T-shirts and white athletic socks in all sizes. Also, monetary gifts may be made to Perry Chapel Foundation. The inmates at Perry have no dedicated space for worship and services are held in the gym, visitation room, or wherever space can be found. If you would like to donate (it is tax-deductible), just place in an envelope marked Perry Foundation and deposit in the regular offering. Also please pray for this effort.

    The Reverend Thomas Spencer LeGrand has accepted the call to be pastor of Augusta Heights and will begin his ministry here on April 1st. Pastor Dan will be here until March 31st. Please pray for Tom and his family as they complete their ministry at First Baptist Church in Inman. Pray for our church as these days of transition occur.

    Our Unity Service will be Sunday, February 12th @ 5pm at Open Heart Baptist Church.

    February 20th the children will go to Monkey Joe’s for a day of fun while out of school. We will meet at the church at 10:00 and return around 2:00. We will eat lunch out. Please bring $10.00 to help cover the cost. RSVP to Debbie.

    Special Prayer Needs and Concerns

    The B.A.L.L. Club Valentine's Day Tuesday, February  14 @ 10:30am in the Fellowship Hall, come celebrate Valentine's Day with a covered dish Luncheon. Barbecue chicken provided. Bring chocolate desserts or Valentine red or pink. We will have special guest, Jerry Stepp, Vocalist.   Senior Adult  Invitation for Lunch February 20, 2012  at 12 noon Westminster Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Augusta Street. The speaker is, Dr. George Frein:  Portraying  Abraham Lincoln " Crisis in America". The cost $10.00 for program and buffet. RSVP to Juanita @246-4051 by February 14th.
